Low Profile Wireless Card How Can I Tell If My Desktop Already Has A Wireless Card?

How can I tell if my desktop already has a wireless card? - low profile wireless card

I have an HP Compaq low profile, which I combined with a wireless router and want to know if I buy a wireless card or if it still there. Where can I and what do I look?

If you receive one, which:

Start-> Control Panel-> System-> Hardware tab-> Device Manager

If Device Manager is open, you should see your wireless card under "Network adapters" see too. That means if you have one.

Look at the back. There is a small antenna stickin '? No? Installed yet, you have a wireless card. These computers are not as portable computers, where no antenna. Yes, it's a professional way to do this (Start> Control Panel> Internet connections), but it's really obvious.

Start> Settings> Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device Manager> Network Adapters

If you have an Ethernet card (either onboard or not), you should have a kind of Ethernet controller, see above, and also with a wireless card.
